Bondi House

Bondi House

The re-imagining of this Federation duplex has produced a jewel-box of colour, comfort and calm. ‘The clients had a good visual awareness and were willing to be courageous, which made the job a pleasure’, says Briony. Every room in the house was re-designed, beginning by pulling light into the entrance with a pale pink waxed plaster wall, alongside a timber bookshelf repainted to give it a new lease of life. If existing pieces of furniture work or can be re-upholstered or re-painted the studio likes to take that opportunity. “We recognise the emotional connection some clients have with certain pieces’, says Briony, ‘and try to find ways to retain the old and fold them in with the new.”

Round House

This house was designed in the 1960s by an American architect John Amory who was a great friend of Briony’s mother.
