London Terrace
London Terrace
Located in Islington, this corner terrace offered an ideal canvas for an inner London home, with its generous natural light and strong architectural bones. The project was a collaboration with London-based designer Jo Mitton, a former team member who understands and shares the studio’s design philosophy. The approach was both sensitive and ambitious, balancing contemporary interventions with an appreciation for the home’s existing character.
At the heart of the redesign is the striking emerald green kitchen, crafted in partnership with Plain English. The kitchen’s bold colour choice and bespoke detailing set the tone for the entire space, combining traditional craftsmanship with a fresh, modern sensibility. The material selection was carefully considered, ensuring a tactile and timeless quality throughout.
Bespoke window treatments, designed in collaboration with Nest Design, add another layer of refinement to the interiors. This partnership builds on previous successful projects, including the renowned Spring restaurant, where attention to detail and a deep understanding of textiles played a crucial role. The window dressings were tailored to enhance both the proportions of the rooms and the quality of natural light filtering through the space.
The success of this project lies in its collaborative nature. By engaging highly skilled artisans and specialists across multiple disciplines, the design was able to achieve a cohesive and exceptionally high-calibre finish. Every element, from joinery to textiles, was developed with a commitment to craftsmanship and a shared vision for creating a sophisticated, liveable home.
This London terrace now stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful design partnerships, where each contribution—whether from a designer, artisan, or craftsperson—adds to a beautifully resolved and richly detailed interior.
