Collector’s House

Collector’s House

This was a special project where the client, with a love of art, wanted to embrace the colour pink for a study and workroom that had to be a beautiful, light-filled space. ‘The ceiling has a pale pink gloss glaze that gives a softness and translucency to the entire room’, says Briony. The sense of airiness is enhanced by the use of delicate, sheer fabric blinds while functionality is achieved with bookshelves curved to follow the line of the wall and a custom-designed fold-up table. The light palette is anchored by a textured grass-cloth wallpaper, in tobacco, which proves to be a perfect backdrop to a series of art pieces. Off-the-shelf elements such as white match-stick blinds and the String System shelving from Sweden balance the bespoke elements.

Crafted House

This beautifully positioned Federation-style house on Sydney’s harbour had great bones – unfortunately some were in the wrong place making for less than ideal living arrangements.
