Clovelly Cabana

Clovelly Cabana

A small space that’s big on character, this poolside cabana was built in conjunction with Robert Plumb Fix to give its owners a self-contained building that they could offer to guests. Made from recycled bricks with concrete floors, it features bi-fold rosewood shutters that add texture and warmth, blending beautifully with the garden.

The feel is simple, clean and pared back, with an appealing mix of materiality and lovely moments of colour. Timber continues inside, on the kitchen cabinetry, long oak shelf and timber and cane dining chairs, while a waxed plaster splashback brings a welcome wash of pink. The blue tones that appear in little flecks on the terrazzo benchtop become an intense shot of colour in the bathroom, in glass mosaic tiles across the walls, floor and vanity.

The space is lightly furnished with functional yet harmonious pieces, from the sculptural forms of the dining table and white resin pendant light to the soft neutral tones of the sofa, armchair and rug.

Harbour House

This house in Sydney’s Rose Bay is an example of the client, architect and interior designer understanding the value in breathing new life into existing architecture rather than building from the ground up.
